This 30-minute module includes the βnewβ pictograms. WHMIS has replaced some hazard classes and also introduced new classes (including the hazards associated with the environment).
WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) is required by all employers and is the national standard for hazard communication in Canada. It is designed to educate all workers of storage, safe handling, and use of controlled products in every workplace.
As of late 2022, Canada updated the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) to align with newer versions of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS). The three-year transition period for these updates officially ended on December 14, 2025.
While the core pictograms remain the same, amendments in December 2022 introduced a new class for "Chemicals Under Pressure" and modified requirements for aerosol products.
